A nail salon can be a very toxic environment both for workers and for customers. Solvents and adhesives used to remove nail polish and apply nails accumulate in the air inside a salon. Known contaminants in nail salons include phthalates, acetone, methyl, ethyl and other methacrylates, toluene, xylene, and other alcohols.
